ENGLISH TEACHERS AND THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY


For many years, Internet has been used as a tool for sharing and researching inside a classroom; being useful to look for any type of content including apps, webquest and videotutorials; to satisfy our needs as teachers. 

Therefore, Computer Assisted Language Learning, CALL, is an educational paradigm created by Levy in 1997, which is defined as an survey of the creation of different applications for Language Learning and Apprenticeship. This paradigm introduced the use of computers in classrooms to complete the main educational knowledge; divided in three stages, Behavioral, Communicative and Integrative. Detached in different times and own characteristics.

This means, that classrooms went through a series of steps before having this type of learning. Currently, all the personal of school institutions own devices to facilitate and make use of educational learning, where teachers have to be fully prepared and be able to manage programs when instructing the students to reach the goal. Nowadays most of these tools or apps are downloadable for any type of device and software. 

The objective of this blog is dedicated for English Teachers who need to use technology in their actual classes. We will be showing and introducing to them steps to follow for the use of the different tools and the main functions for each tool, to help you, teacher, to have a better organization in class. Taking into account that the explanation of some apps mentioned, will provide necessary information that is complemented with videos, images and presentations; making the teachers feel free to choose when to work with the apps.

As mentioned, you will find the best examples of webquests and videotutorials just by using a computer, tablet or a mobile phone. All the tools, apps and other sorurces mentioned are easy and suitable for all kinds of public; that are mainly based on the practice to improve different cognitive and mental abilities of the language.
